William F. Buchanan has been the Senior Pastor of the historic Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church since 1994. He is a graduate of Bethune-Cookman College (B.S. Economics) and matriculated at the University of Florida Business School. He also earned degrees from the Morehouse School of Religion-Interdenominational Theological Center (M.Div.) and United Theological Seminary (D. Min.). Since coming to Fifteenth Avenue, Dr. Buchanan has led the church into becoming a beacon of light for ALL persons in the community. Dr. Buchanan serves as Vice Chair of the Board of Operation Andrew Group, a non-profit organization of multi-ethnic and multi-denominational churches partnering to build a better community. He has been a Board Member since 1999.
Dennie Marshall is currently the Vice President/Mortgage Loan Consultant at SunTrust Mortgage Nashville and Manager of “THE MARSHALL TEAM.” Mr. Marshall has over thirty years of experience in the mortgage industry. He previously served as an Assistant Vice President and District Manager for GMAC Mortgage in the Middle Tennessee area. He is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Mortgage Banking and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Tennessee State University. Mr. Marshall has served on the Board of Directors since 2001.
Charlie Pope is a graduate of Tennessee State University and a retired administrator from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools. Mr. Pope is also a small business entrepreneur and has served on the Board of Directors since 2006.
Raymond Pugh is the owner operator of Grassmanagement, a lawn care business. He has worked in this capacity since 2001, which financially supported his way through college. After graduating from Tennessee State University in 2005 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, he decided to pursue his dream of entrepreneurship and get licensed and insured. Owning and operating a business has allowed him to gain insight into all aspects of business operations, especially people skills and marketing. Mr. Pugh has served as a Board Member since 2006.
Daniel Wilson is the Vice President of Lending Operations at Southeast Community Capital Corporation (SCC). He came to SCC two years ago after over 24 years in traditional banking, where for the past 17 years of his banking career he worked among other responsibilities as a Community Reinvestment Officer, helping his banks find qualified and meaningful economic development investments, loans and services in the communities they served. In his career both at SCC and in traditional banking, Mr. Wilson has been a lender, a compliance officer, and has overseen construction lending, a sizable Freddie Mac servicing portfolio, loan documentation and lending operations. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2006.
