Dennie Marshall, Board Vice Chairperson
Barbara D. Toms, Board Chairperson, currently serves as FABCDC's Workforce Development Consultant and is Vice Chairman of the Metro Social Services Commission. In June 2009, the National Institute of Corrections certified her as an “Offender Workforce Development Specialist” for successfully completed its 180-hour training program. Atter Ms. Toms graduated from the Vanderbilt University Divinity School (MTS) in 2007, the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church licensed her as a “Minister of Public Service.” For ten years (1995 to 2005), she served as Director of the Tennessee Division of Charitable Solicitations, regulating the fundraising activities of nonprofit organizations in Tennessee. Ms. Toms is a licensed attorney and has worked in both the public (Metro Public Defender’s Office) and private (self-employed) sectors.
