Transformed community through transformed lives

Our Mission

We connect vulnerable individuals to opportunities and services so they can overcome adversity, experience an improved quality of life and participate in the revitalization of their community.

Our Impact

Our community development efforts have significantly affected the lives of many of our neighbors. Although the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Community Development Corporation (FABCDC) serves all of Davidson County, MSA, our impact is highly visible in a two-block area within our immediate neighborhood. This area is between Jefferson Street and Scovel Street and bordered by 10th Ave. N. and 11th Ave. N.

In collaboration with the North Nashville Community Development Corporation, MDHA, and the Mayor’s Office, FABCDC built the 942 Jefferson Street Complex.

This development transformed a dilapidated car wash known for criminal activity into a beautiful 18,000 square footmixed-used project with 6,000 square feet of office and
retail space on the ground floor and 12 one- and two- bedroom rental apartments on the second and third floors.

942 Jefferson St. serves as an important catalyst for further development along the Jefferson St. corridor.

On Scovel Street, FABCDC sponsored the development of a HUD-202 senior housing project, the Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Village Manor, which provides an important community for senior citizens. There are twenty five affordable one-bedroom apartments in Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Village Manor. Across the street from Village Manor, FABCDC has built 2 single-family homes. These first-time home buyers were encouraged to participate in FABCDC’s home buyer education program.

FABCDC will continue to develop affordable housing, expand our workforce development program, and provide financial management and home buyer education classes to our neighbors.
